Visible Finally Supports Android Smartwatches – If You Have the Right Watch

Visible Adds Pixel Watch LTE Support for Android Users – But There’s a Catch

Visible, the budget-friendly carrier owned by Verizon, has finally opened the door for Android smartwatch support – but only if you’re sporting a specific device.

As of now, only the Google Pixel Watch 2 and newer LTE models are compatible with Visible’s smartwatch service.

This update brings long-awaited parity for Android users who’ve seen Apple Watch support on Visible for quite some time. For those on the base Visible or Visible+ plans, connecting your Pixel Watch will cost an extra $10 per month. If you’re subscribed to the premium Visible+ Pro plan, good news – the smartwatch feature is included at no extra cost.

Setting up your Pixel Watch is straightforward. Pair the watch with your Android phone, open the Pixel Watch app, then navigate to Watch Settings > Mobile Network. Sign in to your Visible account when prompted and follow the setup instructions. Keep in mind: Visible isn’t selling Pixel Watches directly – you’ll need to bring your own LTE-enabled model.

While this move is a step in the right direction, it’s far from a full rollout. Notably, there’s still no support for Samsung Galaxy Watches, which are among the most popular Wear OS smartwatches. This omission hasn’t gone unnoticed by the Android community.

A Redditor referencing the US Mobile CEO speculated that Google had actively worked to ensure Pixel Watch compatibility with Verizon’s MVNOs, including Visible. That proactive approach might explain why Samsung is currently left out of the equation. Another possible reason: Pixel devices are typically sold unlocked, making them a more natural fit for MVNOs like Visible, unlike Samsung models which are often carrier-locked.

In short, Visible’s Android support has arrived – but only if you’re rocking the right hardware. It’s a cautious start, but one that suggests broader Wear OS compatibility could be just around the corner.
