Vivo is stepping into the “Fan Edition” smartphone game, but not in the way you might expect. Instead of following Samsung’s lead, Vivo has unveiled the X200 FE, a phone that closely resembles the S30 Pro Mini launched earlier in China.

This new iteration, set for global release, promises to offer flagship-like specs at a more accessible price-well, somewhat.

The Vivo X200 FE will make its debut in Taiwan on June 23, followed by a wider rollout on June 30. It will be available in four bold colors: Black, Blue, Pink, and Yellow. But the price might leave you second-guessing: the phone will retail in Europe for €850, which could be considered steep for a phone marketed as a “flagship killer.”

We already know the ins and outs of the X200 FE thanks to its launch in China. The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, which launched about a year ago, paired with 12GB of RAM and a generous 512GB of internal storage. It boasts a large 6,500 mAh battery that supports impressive 90W wired charging. Photography enthusiasts will appreciate the triple-camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera

. There’s also a 50MP selfie camera for those who love clear self-portraits.

Despite all these high-end features, the X200 FE is still a relatively compact device with a 6.31-inch AMOLED display boasting a resolution of 1216 x 2640 pixels. The screen supports a dynamic refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz, offering smooth visuals. Additionally, the device is water-resistant with IP68/IP69 ratings, features an under-display fingerprint sensor, and stereo speakers. However, one downside is the lack of microSD card support, meaning you’re stuck with the internal storage.

On paper, the Vivo X200 FE is a strong contender in the high-end smartphone category, but its steep price tag could hold it back, especially when compared to the cheaper S30 Pro Mini from China, which retailed for just 3,500 yuan ($485/€420). If you’re eyeing this device in Europe, be prepared to pay a hefty premium for it.
