Fatshark has just dropped exciting news for Warhammer 40K Darktide fans, releasing the first paid DLC titled Adeptus Arbites, priced at $11.99 for the Standard Edition and $18.99 for the Deluxe Edition. This DLC introduces a fresh playable class, the Adeptus Arbites, a force of law and order in the grimdark universe. Arbites players come with a trusty companion, the Cyber-Mastiff, which can be customized in both name and appearance.

The Cyber-Mastiff aids players in battle, selecting targets automatically but can also be commanded to attack specific enemies with a double-tap on the Tag Input.

For those seeking a more independent playstyle, the Lone-Wolf talent allows players to ditch their canine companion in favor of a set of powerful buffs. This includes +15% Toughness Damage Reduction, +10% Attack Speed, +10% Damage, and more. The Arbites class also offers a variety of customization options through talent trees like Elite Killing, Cyber-Mastiff Handling, Hybrid Combat, and Supportive Utility, as well as Crowd Control and Melee. Whether you’re looking to decimate enemies or offer support, the Arbites class has something for everyone.

Alongside the paid DLC, the Battle for Tertium free update offers a major overhaul to the core game. The update introduces a more structured narrative, guiding players through a linear campaign complete with new mission debriefs and cinematics. This improvement makes the game much more accessible to newcomers, allowing them to progress steadily while enjoying the story. Additionally, the new mission board system means missions can now be chosen independently of difficulty, providing a more flexible gameplay experience for players of all skill levels.

The difficulty system itself has also been revamped. Players now unlock higher difficulties by completing missions rather than leveling up their characters. This change ensures that players prove their skills at each difficulty level, offering a more rewarding experience. For those looking for more content, there’s also the Inferno in-game event running until July 7, a new Havoc campaign, and 900 new banter lines between characters, adding depth to the game’s atmosphere.

Fatshark has also increased the maximum number of operatives to 8, and the number of weapon loadouts has been similarly expanded, giving players even more options to customize their characters and playstyles.
