Focus Entertainment has announced that Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 has reached a significant milestone, surpassing 7 million units sold. Released on September 9, 2024, this third-person shooter from Saber Interactive quickly gained traction, selling 2 million copies within a day of launch and hitting 5 million by late November. 
The overwhelming success of the game set the stage for its inevitable sequel, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 3, which was confirmed earlier this year, promising even more epic battles and expanded gameplay.
However, fans of the current game can rest assured that Space Marine 2 isn’t being abandoned. At the 2025 Skulls event, Saber Interactive revealed exciting new content: Siege Mode, which will be available in the coming weeks. In this new mode, players will defend a fortified Imperial stronghold on Kadaku against waves of Tyranid and Thousand Sons enemies. The mode introduces three dynamic sectors: Defensive Positions, the Arsenal, and the Control Room, each with increasingly difficult waves of enemies. Players will need to complete five waves in each sector before moving on to the next, with occasional breaks for strategic planning.
Strategic depth is a key feature of Siege Mode. Players will encounter intermissions between waves, during which they can capture strategic points or recover Data-slates from fallen allies. These actions grant valuable resources that can be used at the fortress Shop, where players can purchase ammunition, healing items, armor boosts, and even summon specialized Space Marines to assist in the battle. Additionally, players can call in Cadian Troopers for extra firepower or pool resources to unleash the destructive power of a Dreadnought, providing a true sense of teamwork and tactical depth.
With such a significant update on the horizon, it’s clear that Saber Interactive is committed to keeping players engaged, offering a blend of intense combat and strategic decision-making. Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 continues to be a standout title in the Warhammer universe, with even more content in the works.
