WhatsApp is working on a new feature called Quick Recap, which will allow users to generate summaries for multiple chats at once. This follows the earlier release of the ‘Message Summaries’ feature, which only allows summaries for individual chats.
Now, with Quick Recap, users will be able to summarize up to five conversations in one go.
To use Quick Recap, users will simply select the chats they want to summarize, tap the three-dot menu at the top-right corner, and choose the ‘Quick Recap’ option. This feature, like Message Summaries, will use Meta’s Private Processing technology to ensure that neither the original messages nor the generated summaries are readable by anyone, not even Meta or WhatsApp.
Just like the Message Summaries feature, Quick Recap will be optional and will be off by default. It will not work for chats that have “Advanced chat privacy” enabled, ensuring that your private conversations stay secure.
The Quick Recap feature was spotted in beta version 2.25.21.12 of WhatsApp for Android. However, it’s still in development and won’t be available to beta users yet. It’s expected to be rolled out in future updates, with a stable release for all users to follow.
