Wildgate, the thrilling PvP shooter blending intense ship-to-ship combat with ground-based first-person shooting, is now available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
Developed by Dreamhaven, a studio founded by ex-Blizzard veterans, the game offers an exciting sci-fi twist to the Sea of Thieves-inspired gameplay.
To mark the official release, Dreamhaven has unveiled a new trailer showcasing even more gameplay action. Alongside the trailer, the studio released a detailed development blog featuring patch notes and highlights from the open beta period. Player feedback has played a significant role in shaping the game’s evolution.
The latest updates introduce a range of improvements, including a revamped Infamy System, Streaks, and Milestones for progression. Players can also look forward to a fresh game mode and updates to ship mechanics, with enhancements to health, design, and ship-to-ship interactions. Combat has also been rebalanced with adjustments to respawn times, which are now set at 16 seconds when dying outside the ship and 12 seconds when dying aboard the ship. In addition, the update brings weapon, equipment, and loot tweaks, as well as a variety of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
Mike Morhaime, Dreamhaven’s CEO and co-founder, expressed excitement about the positive reception during the open beta: ‘The response to Wildgate’s open beta was incredible. It was inspiring to see so many players coming together, having fun, and experiencing the game. Wildgate represents our vision of what games can be: immersive, imaginative, and deeply engaging. We’re just starting to unlock the potential of this vast galaxy, and we hope players of all kinds find something to enjoy.’
Earlier this year, Wccftech’s Alessio Palumbo praised Wildgate for its solid foundation but suggested that PvE encounters could be enhanced, possibly through boss battles or PvE-exclusive modes. With its full release, fans are hoping the game will fulfill its potential and provide endless enjoyment.
