Microsoft has fully revealed its plans for gamescom 2024, which include three days of live broadcasts from Wednesday, August 21 to Friday, August 23.
Games showcased during the streams include Stalker 2, Atomfall, Age of Mythology, Star Wars Outlaws, World of Warcraft expansion The War Within, Towerborne, Avowed, and Ara: History Untold.
Xbox Booth Schedule:
- Wednesday, August 21
- Thursday, August 22
- Friday, August 23
While there were rumors of an Xbox handheld release, it seems gamescom 2024 will focus on previously announced titles like Obsidian’s Avowed, Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws, and GSC Game World’s Stalker 2. Bethesda will also host daily content streams including MMOs like Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online, along with a Starfield expansion called Shattered Space.
Notably, Sony and Nintendo have confirmed their absence from gamescom 2024. Sony cited no plans for the show, while Nintendo’s decision reflects a quieter year with the upcoming Nintendo Switch successor console not expected until 2025.
Microsoft’s gamescom 2024 presence demonstrates a strong focus on delivering engaging content amidst recent staff cuts and studio closures within the gaming business. Xbox boss Phil Spencer emphasized the necessity of tough decisions to ensure a sustainable future.
