The Xiaomi 16 is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about flagships of the year, thanks to fresh leaks from the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station. The upcoming device is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-official Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, supposedly branded as ‘Snapdragon 8 Elite 2’.
This powerhouse chip sets the stage for a high-performance experience that could rival the best from Samsung, OnePlus, and even Apple.
On the camera front, Xiaomi isn’t holding back. The Xiaomi 16 is expected to boast a triple 50 MP rear camera setup: a main sensor with a sizeable 1/1.3″ format, an ultrawide lens, and a telemacro shooter. Interestingly, the telemacro might not be a periscope lens as previously speculated, which raises questions about its zoom capabilities but could hint at faster focusing or macro flexibility.
The battery is another standout—allegedly surpassing 6,500 mAh. If true, this could place the Xiaomi 16 among the longest-lasting premium smartphones in real-world use, potentially solving the battery anxiety issue for power users and gamers alike.
Visually, the phone will feature a 6.3-inch flat OLED display with ultra-thin bezels, giving it a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Some users have pointed out that this design isn’t new, harkening back to Xiaomi’s Mi 4 days or even the iPhone 5 era. But flat edges are making a comeback across the board—not just because of Apple’s influence but due to their practical advantages like better grip and screen durability.
With Qualcomm expected to unveil the new chipset by late September, there’s a high chance Xiaomi will launch the 16 around the same time. Stay tuned, because this could be Xiaomi’s most refined phone yet—blending performance, design, and battery life in a surprisingly cohesive package.

Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 sounds like a Dragon Ball move tbh 😂
The battery size is 🔥🔥🔥 Finally something that might last all day with 5G and gaming!
Love that they’re keeping the bezels slim, hate chunky phones lol
This better not be another ‘big battery, slow charge’ situation. Hoping for at least 120W here 🔥
Not a fan of the telemacro… give me a proper periscope lens already 🫠
Yawn, another 50MP x3 setup. Can we get some innovation in the camera game please?
