Xiaomi AI Glasses and OpenWear Stereo Pro: A New Era of Wearable Tech

Xiaomi recently unveiled a range of new tech at their major event in China, and among the most exciting reveals were the Xiaomi AI Glasses and OpenWear Stereo Pro headphones.

These products showcase the company’s drive to push boundaries with new innovations in wearable tech and audio devices.

Xiaomi AI Glasses

The Xiaomi AI Glasses are a unique blend of style and technology, offering 2K (1440p) video recording at up to 30fps, making them an impressive choice for anyone interested in capturing first-person videos or live broadcasts. With a screen-less interface, the glasses are fully voice-controlled, ensuring a hands-free experience. The right temple features a touch-sensitive control area, and the glasses can be customized with prescription lenses or optional electrochromic lenses for added versatility.

Weighing only 40 grams, these glasses are incredibly lightweight, equipped with a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera sensor. The camera can capture high-quality photos and videos, making them a great option for content creators. The glasses are also equipped with five microphones that use bone-conduction technology and feature wind-noise reduction, ensuring clear audio even in noisy environments. Dual speakers are built-in for media playback.

Running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chipset and Xiaomi’s in-house Vela OS, the glasses promise a smooth and efficient performance. A 263mAh battery ensures up to 8 hours and 36 minutes of usage, nearly doubling the battery life of competitors like the Ray-Ban Meta. The glasses also feature a USB-C port for direct charging, eliminating the need for a special carrying case.

The Xiaomi AI Glasses come in Black, Brown, and Green, and are priced at CNY 1,999 ($278) in China. However, Xiaomi has yet to announce whether these glasses will be available outside of China.

Xiaomi OpenWear Stereo Pro

Alongside the AI Glasses, Xiaomi also introduced the OpenWear Stereo Pro, a pair of open-ear wireless earbuds

. Designed for all-day comfort, these earbuds feature a skin-friendly liquid silicone finish that prevents ear fatigue, even during extended use. They use a three-point support system, including an aviation-grade titanium wire ear hook, ensuring a secure fit.

With an IP54 rating, the OpenWear Stereo Pro are resistant to both water and dust, making them suitable for various outdoor activities. These earbuds boast an industry-first five-driver system, which includes an 18×13mm loudspeaker for powerful audio. They also feature sound tuning by the Harman Golden Ear Team, ensuring top-quality sound.

In addition to their impressive audio capabilities, the earbuds include built-in audio recording and AI-powered translation and transcription features. The earbuds offer 8.5 hours of battery life, with a charging case that extends usage to 45 hours. Available in Gold, Black, and Silver, the OpenWear Stereo Pro are priced at CNY 999 ($140) in China.
