Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5” Officially Launched with Enhanced Features

The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5” has just launched, bringing with it a larger 12.5-inch display and the new Xring O1 chipset. As the first tablet to feature this new processor, the Pad 7S Pro is a direct evolution from the Pad 7 Pro, which used the previous chipset.

It arrives just a month after the Xiaomi 15S Pro, which also runs the Xring O1 chip. But the upgrades don’t stop at the chip.

The new display is one of the most noticeable changes. The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro features a larger 12.5-inch screen, offering an optimal balance between portability and screen size compared to the 11-inch and 14-inch tablets on the market. With a 3:2 aspect ratio and 144Hz refresh rate, it promises smooth visuals, whether you’re watching content, browsing, or gaming.

Despite the larger screen, the Pad 7S Pro is slimmer, measuring just 5.8mm in thickness (compared to the 6.2mm of the Pad 7 Pro). While it does weigh more at 576g (up from 500g), this is mainly due to the larger display and the upgraded battery. The tablet packs a massive 10,610mAh battery that supports 120W fast charging-an upgrade from the previous model’s 8,850mAh battery with 67W charging.

The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro is marketed as a potential laptop replacement, thanks to its compatibility with an optional keyboard that attaches magnetically to the tablet and features a fully adjustable hinge. It also supports software like WPS Office, ZWCAD, and CAJViewer, allowing for a full range of productivity tasks. It can even wirelessly mirror your screen to a PC with just 41ms latency and share a keyboard and mouse across devices. Both Windows and Mac users are supported for these functions.

Audio performance also gets an upgrade, with the Pad 7S Pro now boasting six speakers that support Dolby Atmos for a more immersive multimedia experience, especially when paired with the larger display. Whether you’re gaming or watching movies, the enhanced sound quality will surely make a difference.

The tablet is priced starting at CNY 3,300 (around USD 460) for the base 8GB/256GB version, and it goes up to CNY 4,500 (USD 630) for the 16GB/1TB model. The keyboard add-on costs CNY 1,000 (USD 140), while a screen protector (Soft Light type, which reduces reflections) is available for CNY 200 (USD 30).
