The Xiaomi Smart Band 10 has just been launched, and it’s ready to take on the market with big expectations. As a leader in global wearable shipments, Xiaomi’s Smart Band series has been one of the key drivers of this success.
But what’s new with the Band 10?
Our review unit is the stunning Pearl White Ceramic edition, marking its first international release outside of China. This edition features a premium ceramic frame, while the bottom, where the sensors are located, remains plastic. It definitely feels more high-end than the previous models, although there’s a price to pay for that premium look.
When we weighed the Band 10 Ceramic edition, it came in at 26 grams on its own and 44 grams with its fluororubber strap. This makes it quite comparable to the Xiaomi Watch S4, which is a full-fledged smartwatch.
The next big upgrade is the larger 1.72-inch AMOLED display, which boasts symmetrical bezels that are thinner than those on previous models. The display now reaches a peak brightness of 1,500 nits in HBM mode, a significant 300 nits brighter than the Band 9 from last year.
Another noteworthy improvement is the updated linear vibration motor, which now supports customizable vibration patterns for incoming calls and alarms.
On the health and fitness front, Xiaomi has also revamped its tracking algorithms, added a new 9-axis sensor, and introduced heart rate data broadcasting. Despite these upgrades, the Band 10 still promises a solid 21 days of battery life. We’ll be putting this claim to the test in our full review, so stay tuned.
