The OnePlus Nord 5 is gearing up for release in less than a month, and fresh details have surfaced via Geekbench, confirming that the phone will feature a Qualcomm chip instead of the previously rumored MediaTek Dimensity 9400e. The device (model CPH2707) will sport the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM, delivering impressive Geekbench scores of 1,977 for single-core and 5,090 for multi-core performance. Running on Android 15, it’s expected to feature OxygenOS 15 on top.
As for the rest of the specs, the Nord 5 is said to include a 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 16MP selfie camera.
The main camera setup boasts a 50MP primary shooter with optical image stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultrawide lens. Additionally, rumors suggest that the Nord 5 will come with a massive 7,000mAh battery and support for 100W wired charging, making it a powerhouse in the midrange segment.
Despite the Qualcomm chip, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 has raised mixed opinions. While the performance is solid, some feel it’s a bit outdated compared to newer chips like the Dimensity 9400e. That said, OnePlus’s decision to focus on processing power over cutting-edge camera tech is clear-choosing a top-tier chip at the expense of a more advanced camera setup.
